I had a previous similar issues, I had my turbo’s rebuilt 3x by Majestic Turbo of Dallas.. I “was” running open exhaust, DPs, etc. Less than 10k miles after each rebuild, my Z developed a mild smoking condition after it warmed up and during idle as well as on deceleration when the engine pulled a vacuum. This was an issue IMO although the symptoms appeared to be intermittent, I took the appropriate measures to correct it.. I ended up pulling the rebuilt turbo’s and replaced them with JWT Sport 500s. I have eliminated all of my smoking issues, including the open exhaust Variable…. In summary, I agree with Spee and others that if you have a good set of turbos, they should not smoke with an open exhaust. If your Z is smoking, you should ID the root cause of the smoke and fix it. AshZ's/"Jim's W's" theory may be correct in terms of the life span of the turbo’s/oil seals, however if your twins are causing the smoke, pin-point the root cause of the issue and replace failed part with good one(S)/new one(s). Good luck, Gary
